Muthanna: The National Security Service has announced the successful dismantling of a network comprising 61 individuals involved in the largest land fraud operation in Muthanna Governorate. This operation marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to combat corruption and fraud in the region.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Service’s detachments in Muthanna Governorate, following extensive intelligence and field operations under the supervision of the competent judiciary, successfully identified and dismantled a network engaged in forgery and manipulation of land transactions and real estate registration documents.
The operation led to the arrest of 61 individuals, including government employees, lawyers, and real estate office owners. Investigations uncovered over 90 forged transactions related to the case, along with violations and abuses that resulted in the squandering of public funds, estimated to be approximately two billion Iraqi dinars.
