Islamabad: Pakistan views resolving the Strait of Hormuz issue as a way to contain regional tensions. Pakistan affirmed that reaching a settlement to the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz is key to containing tensions in the Gulf region and the Middle East, particularly between Iran and the United States. Pakistan reiterated its support for all diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting solution to the regional crisis.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during a press briefing, Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andarabi emphasized his country's continued diplomatic engagement with other nations to support de-escalation efforts and promote dialogue. He stated that any progress on the Strait would create a conducive environment for addressing broader regional tensions, including facilitating the resumption of dialogue between Iran and the United States.

He affirmed that Pakistan will continue to support all diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving the crisis, maintaining that diplomacy remains the only path to achieving peace and stability in the region.

He explained that the continued tension has complicated efforts to reach a sustainable settlement to the broader regional crisis between Iran and the United States, stressing that any progress on the Strait of Hormuz would contribute to creating the conditions for the parties to return to the dialogue process outlined in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding and the joint statement between Pakistan and Qatar.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson expressed hope that reaching an agreement on the Strait of Hormuz would pave the way for continued dialogue, particularly the resumption of technical talks between Iran and the United States.
