Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired a meeting on Wednesday to review the electricity billing process and related measures.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on the Ministry of Electricity's efforts to enhance billing accuracy and reduce losses. Significant progress was noted for 2025 in terms of electricity collection based on actual consumption, alongside efforts to address losses and eliminate illegal connections to the national grid.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the continuation of meter installation campaigns, advocating for the transition to smart meters while phasing out traditional ones. He instructed officials to complete load monitoring across all governorates and from all production centers to ensure efficient electricity distribution.
