Baghdad: The Baghdad Karkh Police Command denied on Friday reports circulating on social media regarding a shooting incident targeting security forces in the Ghazaliya area, asserting that the news was “false and baseless.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command urged “citizens and social media users to refrain from sharing unverified news and to obtain information from official and accredited sources,” warning against being misled by rumors and false reports that could cause public anxiety. The Command affirmed its continued monitoring of social media content and its commitment to taking legal action against those spreading false news, in accordance with the law.
