Samarra: The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) have initiated a comprehensive security strategy to ensure a safe commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Zain al-Abidin in Samarra. The effort is spearheaded by the 36th Brigade of the PMF, which has reinforced its presence at the entrances of the holy shrine of Imam al-Askari in anticipation of the large number of pilgrims expected to visit the shrine of the two Imams.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the PMF's deployment is strategically designed to facilitate the smooth movement of pilgrims, manage mourning processions, and coordinate service personnel. The objective is to maintain a regulated flow of entry and exit amid the anticipated influx of mourners during the month of Muharram. This initiative aims to create a secure and orderly environment, ensuring that the commemoration of Imam Zayn al-Abidin's martyrdom is conducted without incident.
