Nicosia: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid and his wife, Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, participated today in the opening ceremony of Cyprus's presidency of the Council of the European Union, at the invitation of his Cypriot counterpart. The President and his wife were welcomed by Cypriot President Nicos Christodoulides and Philippa Carsera Christodoulides. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ceremony was attended by a number of heads of state and leaders, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations. Iraq's participation underscores its commitment to strengthening regional and international cooperation.
