President Stresses Need to Strengthen Iraqi-Lebanese Relations


Baghdad:The President of the Republic, Nizar Amidi, has emphasized the significance of enhancing Iraqi-Lebanese relations and expanding cooperative efforts between the two nations.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Amidi hosted Ambassador Mohammed Reda Al-Husseini at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. During this meeting, the President received the ambassador’s credentials, officially recognizing him as Iraq’s Ambassador to Lebanon. President Amidi extended his best wishes for the ambassador’s success in his new role.



The President highlighted the critical role of diplomatic efforts in promoting Iraq’s image and its engagement with the international community. He stressed the importance of broadening cooperation with Lebanon to serve mutual interests.



Ambassador Al-Husseini expressed his dedication to strengthening the relationship between Iraq and Lebanon. He noted the potential for collaboration in political, economic, and cultural domains, aiming to foster closer ties between the two countries and their citizens.
