BAGHDAD / Russia confirmed its readiness to transfer its experiences in the field of defense industry to Iraq.
According to a statement of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals said, "Acting Minister of Industry and Minerals, Mohammed Shia 'Al Sudani met at the ministry headquarters of the Russian ambassador to Iraq, Alexander Istomin, who stressed his country's keenness on supporting Iraq, referring to the Russian- Iraqi Committee agreement to develop cooperation between the two countries, especially in the industrial field, and expressed willingness to transfer Russian expertise in the field of military industries and light weapons and gear and armored vehicles through the exchange of joint meetings and visits. "
For his part, the ambassador, during the meeting, confirmed "the importance of the use of Russian companies and benefit from their experience in the field of defense industry, adding that the ministry will supply the Russian Embassy for future industrial projects planned to be implemented through Payment in installments or investment."
Sudani praised the Russia's position of the Government and people to support Iraq in all fields and the war on terror, believing it to be a great stimulus to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the industrial field, calling on Russian companies to visit Iraqi factories and see the real needs for the purpose of agreeing on investment contracts. "
He pointed out that "Iraq needs Russian expertise in the development of the industrial sector, especially that there is a historical and long-standing ties between the two friendly countries.
