Baghdad: Head of the State Forces Alliance Sayyed Ammar Al-Hakim and Secretary-General of the Badr Organization Hadi Al-Amiri stressed the importance of addressing challenges and resolving the issue of weapons outside the state framework through understandings.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hakim’s media office stated that Al-Hakim received Badr Organization Secretary-General Hadi Al-Amiri and discussed developments in the political scene in Iraq and the region. He renewed his emphasis on the importance of confronting challenges through greater internal cohesion and strengthening national unity, resolving the issue of weapons outside the state framework through understanding and dialogue, and giving precedence to the public interest.

Al-Hakim and Al-Amiri stressed the need to restore stability in the region and end the state of escalation and tension.

On another matter, Head of the State Forces Alliance Ammar Al-Hakim emphasized during a meeting with Baghdad Governor Atwan Al-Atwani the importance of local governments in the country’s administrative framework.

Al-Hakim’s media office, as reported by INA, stated that Al-Hakim received Baghdad Governor Atwan Al-Atwani and discussed the service situation in Baghdad and ways to improve it in a manner commensurate with the size and capabilities of the governorate. He called for coordination with relevant departments of the Baghdad Municipality and other ministries.

Al-Hakim stressed the importance of local governments, noting that they are a constitutional reality and an embodiment of administrative decentralization. He called for attention to highways and ring roads that ease traffic congestion and facilitate movement between areas of Baghdad province. He emphasized the importance of districts and sub-districts and giving them special priority in services and projects.

Additionally, Al-Hakim called for maximizing revenues and not solely relying on the governorate’s budget. He noted that there are many opportunities that could provide financial liquidity for the governorate’s projects. He also called for cooperation with scientific experts and universities to find solutions to persistent problems, along with the need to update legislation that simplifies procedures and contributes to the delivery of services.

Al-Hakim pointed to the need to enhance harmony among the political forces represented in the local government to provide the best services to citizens.
