Sheikh Hammoudi Emphasizes Role of Coordination Framework in Iraqi Government Policies

Baghdad:Sheikh Hammam Hammoudi, head of the Iraqi Supreme Islamic Council, has stated that the Coordination Framework holds responsibility for formulating the visions and policies of Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi’s government. He noted a significant level of harmony and understanding between the two parties, with Iraq progressing towards achieving full and comprehensive sovereignty.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Hammoudi made these remarks at the Dialogue Forum, emphasizing that the homeland encompasses identity, culture, creed, and values, with religion forming its foundation. He cautioned against a lack of pride in these constants, which could lead to attempts to divide the homeland.

Hammoudi highlighted that Prime Minister Al-Zaidi is the Coordination Framework’s chosen leader, accountable to both God and the Iraqi people for creating visions and policies in alignment with the law and Constitution. The Prime Minister is tasked with implementing these through government mechanisms. Hammoudi also pointed out that Al-Zaidi’s foreign visits demonstrate the respect Iraq commands, underscoring its role in regional stability.

Discussing regional matters, Hammoudi criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s pursuit of achievements, whether genuine or illusory, and highlighted Iran’s stance against accepting outcomes that do not honor its sacrifices. He mentioned that any future existential battle would involve new fronts and all supporters of the Axis of Truth, with no boundaries or rules.

Hammoudi explained that September 30 marks not just Sovereignty Day but the commencement of a major national project towards full sovereignty. Key outcomes include the withdrawal of Coalition and NATO forces, an agreement on the withdrawal of Turkish forces by year-end, and the disarmament of Turkish and Iranian opposition groups in Iraq.

On economic issues, Hammoudi described external borrowing as sensitive, potentially subjecting Iraq to World Bank policies, a path the Coordination Framework and Parliament have rejected. He also outlined the Framework’s working mechanism, involving specialized committees to manage complex discussions and proposals.

Lastly, Hammoudi encouraged Iraqi businesspeople to emulate Prime Minister Al-Zaidi’s philanthropic efforts, particularly in building educational facilities in underserved regions. He concluded by highlighting the Iranian experience as a model of leadership and resilience.
