Baghdad: The Security Media Cell (SMC) confirmed on Thursday that Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zubaidi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has issued directives to raise the level of security readiness and combat preparedness of security and military forces.

According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement issued by the cell stated: "Following directives from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, it has been decided to raise the level of security readiness and combat preparedness of security and military forces, including conducting training exercises and troop movements."

"These measures come within the framework of maintaining a high level of readiness for all formations of the security forces and enhancing their ability to perform their duties, thus contributing to consolidating security and stability and protecting citizens and public interests," SMC stated.
