Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, emphasized on Wednesday the importance of cooperation and coordination among parliamentary blocs to activate the oversight role.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Speaker's media office stated in a press release that "Speaker of Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, received a delegation of MPs from the Services Bloc (Khadamat), headed by MP Mohammed Jamil al-Mayahi. The delegation congratulated the Speaker on his election to the sixth parliamentary session and wished him success in his duties."

The statement highlighted that the meeting stressed "the importance of cooperation and coordination among parliamentary blocs to activate the oversight and legislative role of Parliament in the coming period and to pass important laws."
