The Commander Of U.S. Central Command Affirms Continued Support For Partnership And Coordination With Iraq To Eliminate The Remnants Of ISIS

Baghdad: The commander of the US Central Command in the Middle East affirmed the continued support of the international coalition forces for the partnership and coordination with Iraq, in order to eliminate the remnants of ISIS and develop the capabilities of the Iraqi armed forces.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Defense stated in a press release: “The Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, met today, Friday, at the Joint Operations Command headquarters, with the commander of the US Central Command in the Middle East, Admiral Brad Cooper, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations.”

The statement added: “The two sides discussed aspects of cooperation and coordination at the level of training and arming, in order to develop the capabilities of the Iraqi army. The current situation in the country and neighboring countries was also discussed.”

According to the statement, the commander of the Central Command affirmed the coalition forces’ continued support for the partnership and coordination between the two countries, in order to eliminate the remaining remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs and develop the capabilities of the Iraqi armed forces.
