Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received Ammar Al-Hakim, head of the National Wisdom Movement. A presidential statement said: ‘At the beginning of the meeting, the President offered his condolences to Al-Hakim on the anniversary of the passing of Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim, noting his active national role and his support for efforts to strengthen security, build state institutions, and consolidate a culture of coexistence.’
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting discussed the overall developments in the country and the need to expedite the resolution of national obligations in a way that strengthens the path of national understanding and ensures the stability of the political process.
The latest regional developments were also reviewed. The President affirmed Iraq’s position calling for dialogue and understanding to address crises in a way that contributes to maintaining security and stability in the region.
