BAGHDAD - The head of parliament, Salim al-Jubouri, praised Norway's role in supporting Iraq and its continued support in the fight against terrorism.
Jubouri, during his meeting with Norwegian Ambassador Cecile Perry, confirmed "The importance of international support for Iraq in the ongoing liberation processes to eliminate the terrorist organization,".
"The reconstruction of the liberated areas and the return of displaced people require great international support because the size of the destruction in these cities is very large and exceeds the country's capacity," the statement quoted al-Jubouri as saying," pointing out that "Iraq wishes Norway to play a role in the reconstruction of these areas."
Jubouri praised "The role of Norway in its support for Iraq and its continued support in the war against terrorism, praising the role of Norway's ambassador in Baghdad through the consolidation of relations between the two countries,"
During the meeting, they discussed "the most important political situation in Iraq and the region, in addition to the relations between Iraq and Norway and the prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields."
