Ankara: The Turkish Ministry of Defense asserts that Israel constitutes the biggest obstacle to achieving peace in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Ministry of Defense affirmed that Israel is the biggest obstacle to achieving lasting peace and stability in the region. Turkish Defense Ministry Spokesperson Zeki Aktrk stated during the weekly press briefing at the ministry headquarters that Israel undermines diplomatic initiatives aimed at reaching a ceasefire and achieving lasting peace in the Gaza Strip.

He cited a recent incident where an Israeli attack targeted a camp housing displaced civilians in Gaza and a medical facility, resulting in the death of more than 30 civilians. This attack was described as an example of Israel's disregard for international law. Aktrk emphasized the need for the international community to take a stronger stance to defend international law and humanitarian values to establish peace and stability in the region.

On another note, the spokesperson affirmed Turkey's vision of a "terror-free Turkey" as a strategy to enhance national security and regional stability. He highlighted the country's success in combating terrorism, attributing this achievement to the efforts of security forces and the support of its people. The spokesperson stressed the continued commitment to this path, honoring the martyrs and veterans who have contributed to this cause.

He further explained that eradicating terrorism will not only strengthen Turkey's security but will also contribute to peace and stability in the region.
