Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has declared that Israel's threats against Syria are perceived as direct threats to Turkey. During a joint press conference with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani in Ankara, Fidan demanded that Israel halt its aggressive actions, which he claims obstruct peace and threaten regional stability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Fidan held the Israeli government accountable for its continuous attacks, which he believes threaten Syria's security, sever Palestinian ties with Gaza, and perpetuate violence in the West Bank and Jerusalem. He urged the international community to apply pressure on Israel to respect Syria's territorial integrity and cease its expansionist policies, which he argued have led to significant loss of life and displacement in Lebanon.

Fidan emphasized the ongoing development of relations between Turkey and Syria, underscoring that any threat to Syria is viewed as a threat to Turkey. He called for armed factions in Syria to disarm and focus on stabilizing southern Syria, while also condemning repeated Israeli attacks.

Regarding the Gaza peace plan, Fidan reported intensive work on its implementation, with Turkey's Foreign Ministry and the National Intelligence Organization collaborating closely. He highlighted the efforts being made to mediate and resolve issues, despite Israel's resistance.

Fidan noted that the peace plan aims for Israel's withdrawal from Palestine and Gaza, asserting that the Israeli government resists returning Gaza's administration to its residents. He mentioned a significant meeting in Amman, discussing implementation challenges and future diplomatic actions.

The Turkish Foreign Minister also addressed broader regional tensions, including US-Iran relations and their impact on Palestinian stability. Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani expressed support for ending extrajudicial weapons and terrorism, emphasizing cooperation with Turkey to address mutual concerns.

Fidan and al-Shaibani reviewed the Iranian-American negotiations, stressing the importance of maintaining navigation freedom through the Strait of Hormuz, amidst complex territorial disputes. The ministers reiterated their commitment to regional stability and cooperation in confronting shared challenges.
