Washington: The US Department of Energy announced on Wednesday the commencement of global marketing of Venezuelan oil on behalf of Venezuela, the United States, and its allies.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, media outlets quoted the department as stating that the global marketing of Venezuelan oil has begun, and the proceeds from the sales will be transferred to accounts under US control.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that the United States is in the process of implementing a deal to acquire between 30 and 50 million barrels of Venezuelan oil.
