Washington: US President Donald Trump announced the revocation of security clearances for former Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and former National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan. This move follows the revocation of security clearances for Joe Biden and the cessation of his daily intelligence briefings.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, officials reported that Trump also revoked the security clearances of Lisa Monaco, the Deputy Attorney General under Biden, who played a key role in coordinating the Justice Department’s response to the January 6, 2021 Capitol attacks.

The officials further stated that Trump revoked the security clearances of New York State Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Both James and Bragg were involved in legal actions against Trump.

Traditionally, former US presidents are granted access to intelligence briefings to provide counsel to current presidents on matters of national security and foreign policy.
